Hey there! I am the owner and CEO of Kim Hamilton, RN, LLC. I am also a Registered Nurse, Entrepreneur, Self-Published Author, Conflict Resolution Mediator, Certified Coach, Peer Mentor, Radio Personality on 94.7 in Youngstown, Ohio and a frequent guest on the panel of  international podcast "Shop Talk with Mel".

What I am NOT is a therapist or Mental Health Care Provider. Here's a shout out to the many of you who think I should be---I feel the Love and appreciate your support and confidence in me.  THANK YOU!

So much for what I do, did or should have done.

Here is who I was and now I am...

In spite of all my accomplishments I felt I didn't deserved them. I struggled with staying one step ahead of my unstable emotions, toxic thoughts, and impulsive behaviors. At times being alone, in my own company was toxic. I can only imagine what it was like for others. Sometimes I talked too much because I wanted to matter.                        Other times I tried to be invisible because I didn't want to be seen or speak at all.

I was an overthinker. I second guessed what I said, how I said it, or what I did. I struggled with the fear of being seen, judged, found out, left out, abandoned and lonely. All of this striving to be perfect, and making everyone happy frequently attacked, if not destroyed, my self-worth and my sense of identity.

"How had my life come to this? I abandoned myself, felt alone in rooms filled with people, silenced my authentic voice and trained my nervous system to exist in an ongoing state of fear and anxiety. I discovered, from a personal view, not as the mental health nurse, that living with the trauma responses of perfectionism, procrastination and people-pleasing was overwhelming, exhausting, self-sabotaging and ruining my life.

On the surface, I was a success. I had the “right” job, lived in a “good” neighborhood and drove luxury cars. I was surrounded by family members and friends who genuinely love me. I had a solid relationship with God. I felt gratitude. My daughter was and is, everything that I could have asked for. To the outside world, I was in a place where I desired nothing. I had it all.

But beneath the surface, I struggled to make it through the day. If something was not perfect, it was all wrong. I struggled with motivation and follow-through, even when I wanted to complete a task. Compliments and approval from others sustained my sense of worth, but only temporarily. Emotions controlled my money; fear controlled my relationships and the need to survive controlled my career. I had no peace.  I lived in "fight, or flight" mode.

What was wrong?

I was more influenced by the outside world around me, not the intuition and insight within me. I was living with the baggage of my parents, role models and unsuspecting peers. I had to learn to believe that who I truly am within is more important than my mistakes, circumstances, and what others did to me, thought, or said about me. Creating new ways to feel, think, behave and be accountable for my wrong doings was not easy, or something I could do alone, but with the right tools and support, today I thrive.

I am a perfectionist, procrastinator and people-pleaser in recovery and life has turned around for me, in  wonderful, satisfying ways. I am an inspired work in progress, but my world view is so much better.

I want to support perfectionists, procrastinators and people-pleasers who are still struggling with money, relationships, job satisfaction, and a healthy sense of "SELF"-Awareness-Care-Compassion-Worth and Love.

If this sounds like you, let me help. I will not judge you.
